Saratov store robot Syoma kicks after a shove. Looks like a Unitree G1

A customer shoved a humanoid named Syoma in an electronics shop in Saratov, Russia. The robot recoiled, dropped into a wide stance, and threw high kicks while staff tried to hold it. Futurism recapped the viral CCTV on Saturday, September 6, 2026. One kick appears to catch a clerk. About 20 seconds later the machine freezes with its arms out.

The store joked that its "tech consultant" needed an emotional reboot. Nobody has shown a spec sheet. Futurism and the New York Post say it looks like a Chinese Unitree G1. Treat that as a visual ID, not a Unitree press note.

What happened

Hardware / context

A shipping Unitree G1 is a compact developer humanoid, about 132 cm and $13,500 on Unitree's shop, often backordered. It is sold for labs and early adopters, not as a retail greeter with a kung-fu mode.

If this body is a G1 or a G1-class kit, that still does not tell you who was driving it. Futurism flags remote control, a canned demo, or a staged view-grab as live options. Jam Press / What's The Jam is blunter: manufacturer, model, and control system are not publicly identified.

This is closer to REK's San Francisco fighting-bot shop than to a kitchen helper. Spectacle in a store aisle is not a home chore.

What we do not know yet

Volga Store 64 has not published a model number, a Unitree invoice, or a safety log. We do not know if the kicks were autonomy, teleop, a canned motion, or a balance reflex that looked like a fight. We also do not have confirmed medical reports beyond "everyone is OK" from the store.
